Prohibited and Restricted Items

27 Oct 2026 ·

1. How this list works

This list is part of the Fonecia.com Terms and Conditions of Use and sets out what can and can’t be sold on Fonecia.

  • Prohibited items (section 2) can never be listed, quoted, requested or sold on Fonecia, whatever documents are provided.
  • Restricted items (section 3) may be sold only by suppliers we have approved for that category in writing, and only with the documents shown. Suppliers must apply through their dashboard or by emailing compliance@fonecia.com before listing them.

The list applies to listings, quotes, buying requests and messages. It is not complete: something not named here can still be illegal to export from China or India or to import into the buyer’s country. Suppliers must make sure their goods are legal to export, and buyers must make sure they are legal to import and use. If you’re unsure about an item, ask us before listing or ordering it.

  • Sell goods bearing a brand name or logo they don’t have the right to use
  • Describe products as “replica”, “AAA quality”, “1:1”, “OEM [brand]” or similar, or blur logos in photos to hide them
  • Use another company’s product photos, designs or descriptions without permission
  • Make goods with a buyer’s logo unless the buyer shows it owns the brand or is licensed to use it

Suppliers selling branded goods must be able to show a trademark registration or a written authorisation from the brand owner when we ask. Rights holders can report infringing listings to legal@fonecia.com.

5. Sanctions and export controls

Fonecia can’t be used to trade with people, companies or places under trade sanctions, or to supply goods for a prohibited end use.

  • Sanctioned parties. No sales to, or purchases from, anyone on the sanctions lists of the United Nations or of the countries whose laws apply to the buyer, the supplier or Fonecia.
  • Sanctioned destinations. We will not process orders for delivery to countries or regions under comprehensive sanctions. Our current list is list countries and regions includes, but not limited to Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, North Korea, CAR.
  • Export-controlled goods. Suppliers must check whether their goods need an export licence from China or India and must not list them without one. Goods controlled for military or weapons use are prohibited (section 2).
  • End use. Buyers must not buy goods for military use, weapons development or re-export to a sanctioned destination.

We screen users and orders and may ask for information about the end user or end use. We may cancel orders, hold payments and close accounts where we suspect a breach, and report it to the authorities where the law requires.

6. Breaking the rules and reporting a listing

If an item breaks this list, we remove it, and depending on how serious and repeated the breach is we may also:

  • Cancel open orders for the item and refund buyers in full
  • Hold the supplier’s payouts while we investigate
  • Remove the supplier’s verification badge, or suspend or close the account
  • Report the matter to customs, police or other authorities, and keep evidence they may need

Posting prohibited items in a buying request or message can also lead to suspension.

Report a listing. If you see an item that shouldn’t be on Fonecia, use the Report link on the product page or email compliance@fonecia.com with the link and the reason. We review reports within 2 working days and won’t tell the supplier who reported it.

We may update this list at any time as laws change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
